Hope for Sofinka
HotBoots is exactly what we had been looking for over the past two years. Our daughter Sofinka has spinal muscular atrophy and suffers greatly from the cold in winter. No matter how many layers of clothing or high-quality footmuffs we tried, after just a short time outside, Sofinka’s feet were always completely cold — often even bluish. It was uncomfortable and unpleasant for her, and winter became a time when she simply didn’t want to go outside. For us as a family, that meant significant limitations — whether it was simple winter walks, Christmas markets, or family trips to the mountains.
But everything changed with HotBoots. For the first time, we are truly looking forward to winter! Thanks to the active warmth from the heating pads, Sofinka’s feet stay cozy and warm, and the excellent materials keep the heat inside beautifully. The overall design is also very lightweight — it doesn’t affect her sitting posture or restrict her movement in any way, which used to be a big problem with traditional footmuffs.
We are overjoyed that this project came to life, giving people in wheelchairs the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of winter without discomfort or fear of frostbite.
